ATTENTION JUNE, 2012 FOUNDATION PROGRAMME EXAMINEES!
CONDUCT OF RESCHEDULED EXAMINATION IN “ELEMENTS OF BUSINESS LAWS AND
MANAGEMENT” PAPER ON 16TH JUNE, 2012
All concerned may please note that the CS Foundation Programme
Examination in “Elements of Business Laws and Management” paper, which was
originally scheduled on 5th June, 2012 and postponed for
administrative reasons beyond our control, will now be held on Saturday, the 16th
June, 2012 (repeat 16th June, 2012) from 9.00 AM to 12.00
Noon.
The Admission Certificates (Roll Nos.) and Examination Venues will
remain the same excepting for Examination Venues in 3 cities, viz.,
Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi, where there may be minor adjustments or change in
respect of one or two Examination Centers, and the affected candidates will be
intimated separately by e-mail/SMS and information to this effect will be
hosted on the Institute’s website.

Ms. G. Dhanalakshmi (EP) read out the brief report
about the minutes of previous meet.
After that Mr. R.M.Verappan gave a seminar on “Do’s
& Dont’s” on CS Exam he clearly explained the way to approach the exam.
In the second session Mr. Sree Raman gave exam tips,
it was very useful for students appearing in the upcoming exam.
Ms. U. Prashanthi (EP) gave away vote of thanks.
The meet was concluded with NATIONAL ANTHEM.

points regarding that.

a Non Verbal Communication game was conducted by splitting the students into
many teams.

1. Last date of submitting the examination forms ( without late fee ) for June 2012 session is Monday, the 26th March 2012 ( 24th March & 25th March 2012 being Saturday & Sunday respectively ).
2. Last date of submitting the admission form for Foundation Program ( to be eligible to appear in Dec 2012 exam of institute ) is Monday, the 2nd April 2012 ( 31st March & 1st April 2012 being Saturday & Sunday respectively ).

4th STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME
5th April, 2012 to 11th April,

Salem Chapter of the ICSI
will be conducting its 4th Student Induction Programme [SIP] from 5th
April, 2012 to 11th April, 2012.
As per the Institute’s
guidelines, “Students registered for the Executive Programme on or after 01st September 2009,
is required to undergo Seven Days ‘STUDENT
INDUCTION PROGRAMME [SIP]’ within 06 months of registration and before
appearing for the Executive Programme Examination”.
The candidates can apply
to the program in the prescribed from with the enclosures mentioned therein, to
the Salem Chapter of the ICSI. The fee for the program is
Rs. 1, 000/- [Rupees One thousand only]. The fee is payable by way of cash or demand draft drawn in favour of ‘SALEM CHAPTER OF THE ICSI’ payable at Salem. Fee once paid will not be reimbursed or adjusted towards the next programme.

Applicability of SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 2011
SEBI vide its Notification No. LAD-NRO/GN/2011-12/24/30181 dated September 23, 2011 notified the New SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 2011 replacing the Takeover Regulations namely SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 1997.

from 23rd March, 2012 to 30th March, 2012. The candidates
who have passed Executive Programme / Professional Programme of the Institute
have to complete the EDP before commencing their 15 months Management Training.
The interested candidates
can apply to the program in the prescribed form with the enclosures mentioned
therein, to the Salem Chapter of the ICSI. The fee for the program is
Rs.1,000/- [Rupees One thousand only]. The fee is payable by way of cash or
demand draft payable in favour of ‘SALEM

Mr. M. Harish read out the consolidated report of all the last meetings of SACS Salem.
The winners of paper presentation made their presentation before all the students and our chapters office bearers.

Mr. Senthil Kumar made his presentation on FDI in retail sector and Mr.Amarnath made his presentation on share holder’s democracy.
The next event Debate was conducted between the students on topic is FDI good for our country?
It was like a fight between the Blasting Bulls and Courageous Cows both of them made an equal clash among them.

ATTENTION STUDENTS!
Introduction of New Syllabus & Pattern for Foundation Programme Examinations from December, 2012 Session
The Foundation Programme being the entry level to the Company Secretaryship Course and gateway to the profession of Company Secretaries, the Syllabus Review Committee based on the feedback received from various stakeholders has completed the formulation of detailed contents of the Foundation Programme. We are pleased to inform you that the Council of the Institute has approved the new syllabus for the Foundation Programme.
Salient Features and Requirements
The salient features of the new syllabus and the changed pattern of conducting the examinations for the same is summarized below :-
1. Effective date for New Syllabus
(i) The new syllabus of Foundation Programme will be effective from 1st February, 2012.
(ii) There are four subjects under the new syllabus viz.
§ Business Environment and Entrepreneurship;
§ Business Management, Ethics and Communication;
§ Business Economics;
§ Fundamentals of Accounting and Auditing.
2. New Pattern of Examination
Keeping in view the tech-savvy new generation and with a view to leverage the information technology, the Council of the Institute has decided to conduct Optical Mark Recognition ( OMR ) based Examination ( Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions ) for the Foundation Programme under the new syllabus.
3. First Examination
First examination under this new syllabus will be held from December 2012 session of CS examinations.
4. Option to students under existing syllabus
(i) Students who have registered prior to 1st February, 2012 (subject to the validity of their registration) will have option to continue with the existing syllabus till June, 2013 Session.
(ii) From December, 2013 session, all students will be automatically switched over to the new syllabus.
(iii) In other words, from December, 2012 to June, 2013 session of examination both syllabi (existing syllabus as well as new syllabus) will run parallel.
5. Switchover to new syllabus
(i) Students under the existing syllabus may switch over to the new syllabus. They may exercise their option to switch over to the new syllabus while filling up the examination form for December, 2012 session and no other formal request is required to be sent to the Institute for the purpose.
(ii) Students switching over to new syllabus will not have to pay any charges other than the cost of Study Materials under new syllabus, if any, to be purchased by them.
(iii) Students of existing syllabus are NOT eligible for any paper-wise exemptions on switching over to the new syllabus and they will have to appear in all the papers under the new syllabus irrespective of their performance in previous sessions of examinations or any other qualifications.
