Report on 12th Student Association Meet

Salem Chapter of SIRC of ICSI organized quiz competition on 19th Feb 2011 at 05.30 p.m at diamond rays nursery school, fairlands, Salem. The Chairman of Salem Chapter of ICSI CS. SOLAIAPPAN inaugurates the event. 6 teams of 3 members per team respectively participated.

CWA. Shankar, Mr. Aruncahalam, M.C.S, CA. Sri Saranya anchored the event. The topics included subjects from foundation programme. Executive programme, General awareness, stock market, Information about Corporate Giants, Books and Authors etc.


There was a neck tight competition between “Team E” and “Team F” and “Team F” won at least with a marginal difference of 235 score. The winning team was awarded “BARE ACT of Registration Act” and the runners up were awarded. Participation certificates were awarded to all the participants as a mark of encouragements. High – Tea was served.

Report on 11th Student Association Meet on 6th February 2011

We the Student of Salem Chapter of ICSI and proud member of SACS-SALEM have organized the 11th Student Association meet on 6th February 2011.

There was a pleasant morning on the Sunday. Students have participated in the meet.

The meeting started with Tamil Thai Valthu. Followed by, Ms. Kokila Rani, Executive Programme Student proposed a Welcome address to CS Santhanam, Secretary of Salem Chapter of ICSI and Student Association (SACS) members.

Mr. Sankar, Executive Programme Student read out the brief report about Association Proceedings and Minutes of Previous Meet.

First session started with Mr. K.Harish Kumar, Executive Programme Student, gave seminar on “Money Laundering “, it was an excellent one.

The Second session followed by Mr. Nagakumar, Executive Programme Student, present a paper on “Interpretation of statutes” in which he gave general view about how to interpret a Statute in literal and logical way.

Chief Guest Sri. Santhanam, Secretary of Salem Chapter of ICSI, gave his general view about the Money Laundering and Interpretation of statutes and congratulated the participants who took over the seminar.

The Meet was concluded with National Anthem at 1.30 PM with High-Tea.

Admission to Company Secretaries (CS) Executive Programme is on. Graduates seeking admission till 28th February, 2011 will be eligible for Examination in December, 2011. B.A / B.Sc / B.Com Graduates of any discipline (excluding Fine Arts) can pursue the CS EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The ICSI is a premier National professional distance education body, established by an Act of Parliament (Company Secretaries Act, 1980) and imparts compulsory Postal Tuition (by correspondence) alongwith provision for optional oral coaching classes. Admission to the CS course is open throughout the year. After qualifying the Executive and Professional Examination students are required to undergo Practical and Modular Training to become qualified Company Secretaries.

Students of Final (under old syllabus)

Regarding Compulsory switchover to New Syllabus

All students of Final who are presently pursuing the Company Secretaryship Course under old syllabus are hereby informed that from next examination onwards ( i.e. June 2011 session onwards ) institute’s examination will be conducted under new syllabus only.

As such all concerned students may note that w.e.f. 26th February 2011 all students who are presently in Final ( old syllabus ) will be compulsorily switched-over to Professional Program ( i.e. under new syllabus ).

Students who have already passed any subject of Final ( under old syllabus ) may note that they will be eligible for exemption in corresponding subjects under new

syllabus as per details mentioned below :

We the Students of Salem Chapter of SIRC of ICSI and proud members of SACS-SALEM have organised the 10th Student’s Association Meet on 23rd January, 2011.

There was a bright turn out on the Sunday. Students actively participated in the meet.

The Meeting starts with a Proud Tamil Thai Valthu. Followed by, Mr. Jayanthar, Executive Programme Student proposed a Welcome address to CS Santhanam N, Secretary of Salem Chapter of SIRC of ICSI and Student’s Association (SACS) Members.

Mr. Solaiyappan, Foundation Programme Student read out the brief report about Association Proceedings and Minutes of Previous Meet.

First session started with Mr. Nagakumar N, Executive Programme Student, he presented a seminar on “Law of Evidence”. It was as mind blowing and charming to hear, Students have got cleared their doubts.

The second session followed by Mr. Harish, Executive Programme Student, presented a paper on “Introduction to Service Tax”. He clearly specifies the valuable points and the important aspects which would be useful for the examinations.

Chief Guest Sri. Santhanam, Secretary of Salem Chapter of SIRC of ICSI, elaborately discussed about the seminar and congratulated the participants who took over the seminar.

Mr. Sabarisan, Executive Programme Student thank the Chief Guest and the Student Members of SACS, Salem.

ICSI Examination Centre at Salem.

ATTENTION STUDENTS !

NEW EXAMINATION CENTRES AT

JABALPUR, SALEM AND SONEPAT FOR CS EXAMS.

The Institute is pleased to announce opening of three new Examination Centres at Jabalpur (MADHYA PRADESH), Salem (TAMIL NADU), and Sonepat (HARYANA) for conduct of ‘Company Secretaries’ examinations, on an experimental basis initially for two terms of examinations, beginning from June, 2011 examination onwards.

Accordingly, students are welcome to opt for new examination centres (i) Jabalpur (Centre Code 418); (ii) Salem (Centre Code 318); and (iii) Sonepat (Centre Code 229) in their Examination Forms for June, 2011 examination.. Such of those students who have already submitted their Examination Forms for June, 2011 examination, but now wish to appear in the aforesaid examination from any of the aforesaid new centre(s), may send their written requests on a plain paper to the Director (Students Services), The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, C-37, Institutional Area, Sector 62, NOIDA – 201 309 (e-mail ids: rahul.adhikari@icsi.edu; archana.sethi@icsi.edu) for allowing change of Examination Centre(s) to Jabalpur, Salem and Sonepat Centre latest by 31st March, 2011, as the case be, giving reference of their earlier Examination Enrolment Form, Student Name; Registration No.; Stage of Examination; Details of Examination Fee remitted; and Examination Centre opted previously.
