We the Students of Salem Chapter of ICSI and member of SACS - Salem have organized 24th Students Association Meet on 11th December, 2011.

Title: Do’s and Don’ts in CS Examination

There was a pleasant morning on the Sunday.

The meeting started with Tamil Thai Valthu.

Welcome address given by Ms. I. Monica (FP) and welcome the faculty CA RM. Veerappan, Practising Chartered Accountant & Visiting faculty of Erode Branch and Salem Branch of CA Institutes.

Ms. Amrutha (FP) read out the brief report about the minutes of previous meet.

CA RM.Verrappan made speech about Do’s and Don’ts in Company Secretaries Examination; he clearly pointed out the mistakes usually committed by the students and gave tips to overcome the mistakes done by the students in Exam hall and in answer sheet.

Ms. A.Kanchana (EP) gave away vote of thanks.

The meet was concluded with NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Introduction of New Type of Main Answer Books with OMR based cover page for use of Examinees in CS Examination


ATTENTION STUDENTS!  

INTRODUCTION OF NEW TYPE OF MAIN ANSWER BOOKS WITH OPTICAL MARK READER (OMR) BASE COVER PAGE FOR USE OF EXAMINEES IN CS EXAMINATION, DECEMBER, 2011  

The Institute has decided to introduce New Type of Main Answer Books with Optical Mark Reader (OMR) base  cover page for use of examinees in CS examination  effective from December, 2011 examination onwards.  Detailed Instructions with regard to use of Optical Mark Reader (OMR) based Answer Books are given in the “Instructions to Examinees” appended with the Admission Certificates.  However, attention of the candidates are especially invited to the following ‘Important Instructions’ for advance information and necessary compliance : 
 
  • Candidates should write their Roll Number both in words and figures in the allotted space at the top of the cover page and carefully darken the appropriate circles in the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) portion corresponding to their Roll Number at right hand corner in the specified space on the cover page of main Answer Book with Blue/Black ball point pen only.
  • Candidates must ensure that before signing the Attendance Sheet on each day of the examination, they remove their respective Roll No. Bar Code Stickers of that particular paper from the Attendance Sheet corresponding the date of examination and affix the same on the cover page of the main answer book at the appropriate space.
  • Candidates should sign on the cover page of the main answer book at the space provided in addition to signing of Attendance Sheet for appearing in each examination.
  • Candidates should write the date of examination, stage of examination and the name of the subject in the specified space provided in upper portion of the cover page of the main answer book marked “To be filled in by Candidates.”
  • Candidates should darken the relevant circle for indicating the medium of writing the answers in the examination, i.e., English or Hindi medium.
  • Candidates must put a cross mark (X) in the box provided on the cover page of main answer book against the respective question number attempted by them.
  • Candidates should indicate the number of additional answer books, used by them in the space provided on the cover page of the main answer book(s). 
  • Candidates should not write their name, roll number or any other distinctive marks in any part of the answer books including the additional answer book(s)
  • Candidates should carefully note and ensure that the information provided on theOptical Mark Reader (OMR) based Cover Sheet of the main Answer Book is correctly filled-up and is accurate as the same is to be read by the machine for result processing activities.  Furnishing of any wrong information can adversely affect your result, for which the Institute shall not be responsible in any manner.
  • Candidates shall not write anything in the lower portion of cover page of main answer book marked “For Examiner’s Use Only”.
Note : 1. Before filling up particulars on the cover page of the main answer book, candidates are advised to carefully go through the ‘IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES given on the reverse side of first cover page (Page No.2) of the main answer book.

New Format of Quarterly Report

Attention Students  

The Training & Educational Facilities Committee of the Council has approved the new format of the quarterly report to be submitted by the students. Students undergoing 15 months training or part training with Companies, PCS, MCA,ROC,RD,OL ,Financial Institutions, Law firms, Consultancy firms, IICA or any other organization registered with institute  for imparting training are required to submit the quarterly report  in  the prescribed format. The format is available under the ‘Training’ section on the website of the Institute.  

The format will be effective from 1st December 2011.

Ms. S. Shruthi (FP) read out the brief report about the minutes of previous meet.

Mr. R. Kathiravan (EP) gave much information about the recent amendments in Corporate Law which was much useful to students.

Ms. I. Elakiya (FP) gave a seminar on “COMPANY LAW” he clearly specified all the points regarding that.

Then students conducted Corporate Games. There is a good participation from all students.

Mr. K.B. Amarnath (EP) gave away vote of thanks.

Then Mr. M.Harish (PP) gave many informations about the recent amendments in Corporate Law which was much useful to students.

After that Mr. K.M.Santhanakumar (EP) gave a seminar on “TYPES OF SHARES” he clearly specified all the points regarding that.

In the second session Debate on LLP VS COMPANY was conducted many current data’s and the advantages and disadvantages regarding the topic  were discussed by the students.

Mr. Kathiravan (EP) was elected as secretary of SACS-Salem.

Mr. P.Paraman (EP) gave away vote of thanks.

VERIFICATION OF MARKS OF CS JUNE, 2011 EXAMINATIONS



VERIFICATION OF MARKS OF CS JUNE, 2011 EXAMINATIONS

In terms of regulation 46 (2) of  The Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982, as in force, a candidate can seek ‘Verification of Marks’ in any subject(s) of  June, 2011 examination within one month from the date of  declaration of results.  The application for verification of marks should be made by interested candidates in the prescribed form (available at:  http://www.icsi.edu/WebModules/LinksOfWeeks/MarksVerification.doc ) on a plain paper, in candidate’s own handwriting together with  requisite fee @ Rs.100/- per subject within one month from the date of  declaration of results, i.e., upto and including 26th September, 2011 (25th September, 2011 being Holiday).  

The application for verification of marks duly completed in all respects should reach on or before the last date,  addressed to The Joint Director (Exams.), The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, C-37, Institutional Area, Sector 62, NOIDA – 201309 (U.P.). Candidates are advised not to club any other query/matter or remittance of fees  along with his/her request for Verification of Marks to facilitate an early reply.   

The response time to candidates’ requests for verification of marks is normally  3-4 weeks from the date of receipt of their applications in the Examination Deptt. of the Institute. After completion of verification process, outcome of the verification of marks is hosted on the Institute’s website: www.icsi.eduand the candidate concerned by entering his/her Roll No. or Student Registration Number can enquire about the status/outcome of his/her application. The candidates concerned are also individually informed about the outcome of their requests by post.  However, if a candidate does not receive any communication by 20th November, 2011, he/she should write to the Joint Director (Exams.) giving relevant details – (i) his/her name; (ii) student registration number and Roll Number; (iii) stage and module(s) of examination (iv) name of the subject(s) in which verification of marks was sought; (v) date of application and mode of  its dispatch;  (vi) amount of verification fee and mode of its remittance, viz., Bank Draft No., date of issue of Bank Draft, Name of drawee bank; (vii) complete postal address along with PIN Code;  (viii) e-mail id; and (ix) Mobile/ Telephone Number.

DECLARATION OF JUNE, 2011 EXAMINATION RESULTS

The results of CS Foundation Programme, Executive Programme and Professional Programme examinations held in June, 2011 will be declared on Thursday, the  25th August, 2011 at 11.00 A.M.  The results along with subject-wise break-up of marks of candidates will also be made available on Institute’s Website www.icsi.edu on 25th August, 2011 after 11.00 A.M.    

Despatch of physical copies of Result-cum-Marks Statement to the candidates of Foundation Programme and Executive Programme has been discontinued from June, 2011 Examination. Instead they have been extended the facility of downloading of E-Result-cum-Marks Statement from the student portal www.icsi.in for their reference and records.  

As before, the Result-cum-Marks Statement of Professional Programme Examination will continue to be despatched to the candidates in physical form, by ordinary post.

There was a pleasant morning on the Sunday. Students have participated in the meet.

Ms. Saranya (EP), Mrs. Vimala (EP) gave a clear view about the role & responsibilities of the main persons in an AGM.

The Second activity was given Mock Annual General Meeting by the students. All students gave an effective participation in the Mock AGM.

ATTENTION STUDENTS

NEW EXAMINATION CENTRES AT DHANBAD AND KOTA FOR CS EXAMS.

The Institute is pleased to announce opening of two new Examination Centres at Dhanbad(JHARKHAND), and Kota(RAJASTHAN) for conduct of ‘Company Secretaries’ examinations, on an  experimental basisbeginning from December, 2011 examination onwards.

Accordingly, students are welcome to opt for new examination centers  (i) Dhanbad (Centre Code 108);  and (ii) Kota (Centre Code 230) in their Examination Forms for December,  2011examination.

We the Student of Salem Chapter of ICSI and proud member of SACS-SALEM have organized the 17th Student Association meet on 19th June 2011.

There was a pleasant morning on the Sunday. 

The meeting started at 11.30 AM with Tamil Thai Valthu. Followed by Welcome address given by Ms. G. Saranya (EP), she addressed CS Santhanam, Secretary of Salem Chapter of ICSI and Student Association members.

Mr. R. Kathiravan (EP) read out the brief report about association and minutes of previous meet.

Mr. N. Nagakumar gave seminar on the topic “Central Excise Act 1944 “, it was an excellent one.

Mr. M. Harish was elected as chairman and Ms M. Sri Vidya was elected as treasurer of SACS-Salem

CS Santhanam, Secretary of Salem Chapter of ICSI gave his general view about Central Excise Act 1944 and apart from that he encouraged the students to participate in seminars and to develop their talents and skills.

The course will be a combination of lecture and class room exercise, so as to give the students required level of confidence to face the examination boldly.
